Homecare Medical Supplies is Connacht’s Best Family Run Business
Homecare Medical Supplies has scooped the regional title of Best Family Run Business in the Connacht Finals of the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards which took place at the Clayton Hotel Galway recently. Homecare Medical Supplies now goes forward to compete with provincial winners from Leinster, Munster and Ulster for the national title of Best Family Run Business at the all-island finals in March 2009. As a provincial winner Homecare Medical Supplies also has an opportunity to win the overall national title of Ulster Bank Business Achiever 2008.
Receiving his prize of a specially commissioned award created by Irish artist Grainne Breslin, Homecare Medical Supplies founder, Peter McGuinness expressed his delight at winning the Connacht title.
“On behalf of all the staff at Homecare Medical Supplies I am honoured to accept this award for Connacht’s best family run business. 2008 was a very significant year for us in Homecare; we celebrated our 20th year in business and also moved into our new purpose built warehouse and distribution centre in Ballyhaunis. This award recognises the hard work and dedication that began 20 years ago and continues today. “
Employing 48 staff in sales, telemarketing, service and distribution roles, Homecare Medical Supplies was selected from a shortlist of three companies in their category and judged on a variety of merits including sales performance, market share growth, company milestones, innovative new products or services and successful achievements.
The Connacht judging panel was made up of Dermot O’Connell, Head of Ulster Bank Business Centre Galway, Seamus Bree, Ulster Bank Regional Director for the West of Ireland, Fergal Broder CEO, Lotus Automation and Greg Byrne, Author, Lecturer and Consultant in Entrepreneurial Marketing.
Homecare Medical Supplies was one of a total of 363 businesses north and south who entered the 2008/09 awards which aim to recognise and reward business success, regardless of business offering, service, or location.
