AutoShield Pen Needle

To reduce the risk of needlestick injuries, BD has launched a safety pen needle. This is the first safety pen needle available in 5mm and offers double protection when administering insulin. The special BD protector ensures that the protector locks after each injection. First, on the patient side, the needle automatically retracts when withdrawn from the skin, with the added benefit of a red band as a confirmation indicator. Secondly, on the pen side, this time, protection is confirmed by the orange cap that covers the needle when unscrewed. The BD Medical AutoShield Duo needle is designed without latex to avoid the risk of allergy.
