Creative Scenes - The Tool Shed
The Creative Scenes – Tool Shed activity has been thoughtfully designed with and for people living with dementia, offering an engaging and meaningful pastime particularly suited for those in the mid-to-late stages. The scene allows users to recreate a familiar environment, where building, fixing, and creating can spark memories of independence, purpose, and pride.
Each magnetic piece can be easily picked up, moved around, and placed wherever the user chooses on the backdrop, making it simple to handle and reducing frustration. Unlike traditional jigsaws, there is no need to fit pieces into a fixed space, which makes the activity more accessible for those with reduced dexterity or coordination.
Developed through observation and feedback, the design focuses on giving individuals a sense of achievement and enjoyment while also encouraging conversation, reminiscence, and social interaction.
