Crash mat

It was lighter than i expected and have to wedge it between a bedside unit and the castor of the bed to stop it moving on the laminate flooring .Hopefully it will never be put to the test.

Hasn't worked for my dad's needs

To be honest, this mat hasn’t worked for us. We got it because my father was rolling out of bed. On the first night we put it down, he got out of the bed and almost fell because of the crash mat being there. It’s too soft to stand on. It's just pushed under the bed since then. He has dementia, so doesn’t have the capacity to push it in before standing up. We were advised not to put up a bed rail in case he injures himself, and a crash mat was suggested.

This would only be suitable for someone who cannot get out of bed unaided.

We found a different solution. We pushed the bed against the wall on the side he was rolling out. He doesn’t tend to go out the other side.
